Prebuilt vs Custom Gaming PC: Which Should You Buy? (2026)

When a prebuilt is the right call

For most people, a prebuilt (our ready-to-go range) is the way to go. The specs are already sorted so nothing bottlenecks anything else, it's assembled and stress-tested before it ships, and one warranty covers the whole machine. If something plays up, you call us. You're not stuck chasing eight different part manufacturers.

Go prebuilt if you want to be gaming this week instead of researching for a month, you're buying for someone else and spec sheets mean nothing to you, or you just don't want the hassle.

When custom is worth it

Custom makes sense when you want something specific that a standard build doesn't cover. A particular case, a quiet build, a white setup, serious airflow for an Australian summer, or an exact CPU and GPU pairing for the games you play. You pick the parts, we check they all work together, then build and test it.

The middle option people forget

Start with a prebuilt and change what you want. Like one of our builds but want more storage or a different cooler? That's a phone call, not a whole custom project. We do it all the time.
